A pair of young talents on the books of Premier League giants Arsenal have piqued attentions online on Thursday evening.

Nelson nets

First up comes Reiss Nelson.

Amid something of a standstill in his career, gifted wide-man Nelson of course made the move to the Netherlands on loan this summer, linking up with Eredivisie giants Feyenoord.

The 21-year-old is yet to manage a single league start with his latest club, but was utilised from the off this evening, as Feyenoord played host to Maccabi Haifa in a Europa Conference League clash.

And Nelson went on to take full advantage of the rare opportunity afforded to him.

En route to a 2-1 triumph, the Arsenal youth product notched his side’s crucial 2nd, cutting in from the left-hand side to pick out the far corner in style:

Flores’ special night

As alluded to above, however, Nelson wasn’t the only Gunners starlet to enjoy a night to remember on Thursday.

The other? Marcelo Flores.

18-year-old Flores, held in high regard in north London, was a short time ago afforded his senior international bow.

Amid something of a battle for his services between country of birth Canada and Mexico, for whom he has lined out at youth level on a number of occasions, Flores this evening showcased his loyalty to the latter.

In a friendly showdown with Chile, which saw Mexico boss Tata Martino call on a host of up-and-coming talent, Flores was introduced off the bench en route to an eventual 2-2 draw.

And, evidently, El Tri’s supporters were keen to make clear their affection for just the latest in a long line of breakthrough youngsters at Arsenal of late, with Flores, post-match, having been hounded for photos by the strong Mexican contingent in attendance in Texas:
