The trio of Barcelona stars up for sale this January after Champions League exit

Barcelona drop into the Europa League

On a night where the rot in Barcelona was laid bare, the Catalan giants failed to make it out of the Champions League group stages for the first time since 2000, when they were knocked out by Leeds United.

A 3-0 defeat at the hands of Bayern Munich in an empty Allianz arena sealed their fate, meaning that the Blaugrana will play Europa League football for the first time since the 2003-04 season, four months before Lionel Messi made his debut for the club.

Xavi now must begin the mammoth task of rebuilding the club, and while there are some brilliant youth prospects at his disposal in the likes of Gavi, Pedri, Oscar Mingueza and Ansu Fati, it still seems a severely uphill task.

However, they may have to offload some stars to bring about the revolution.

The 3 Barca stars put up for sale

Now, as per Gerard Romero, three Barcelona stars have been put up for sale come January after their Champions League heartbreak.

Goalkeeper Marc Andre Ter-Stegen, midfielder Frenkie De Jong and Sergino Dest are all available should offers be made, Romero revealed on his Twitch channel.

Elaborating further, Romero revealed that Xavi and co. will consider offers around 40 million euros for the German shot-stopper, and around 80 million euros for De Jong, who was widely coveted before he moved to the Camp Nou.

Will he still be in popular demand, and will anyone make a move for him?
