Reports coming out of France recently claim West Ham are interested in the services of Mohamed Bayo.
Who is Mohamed Bayo?
Mohamed Bayo is currently plying his trade in Ligue 1 with his boyhood club, Clermont Foot.
The Clermont-Ferrand-born striker has spent all of his senior career, barring a loan spell, with Clermont Foot.
And in the last couple of seasons the 23-year-old has begun to be handed a regular starting berth for the club.
Clermont Foot were plying their trade in Ligue 2 last season, but 22 goals and seven assists from Bayo in 33 league outings ensured that they were able to gain promotion to the French top-flight.
And though Clermont Foot have struggled in Ligue 1 of late, Bayo has continued to be a real threat in front of goal.
In 16 league outings so far this term, Bayo has scored eight goals and provided two assists.
West Ham eyeing Mohamed Bayo
Now, as mentioned above, the five-time capped Guinea international is being linked with a move to the Premier League.
As reported by French outlet le10sport:
According to our information, West Ham has launched operations to get their hands on a very prolific Ligue 1 striker: Mohamed Bayo (Clermont).
In terms of a potential fee for Bayo, le10spot claim that Clermont Foot are asking for €20m to release the hitman.
It is also added that three English clubs are interested in Bayo, but West Ham are the only one who are named in the report.
The Hammers, though, will no doubt be keen to see off any competition for Bayo as they are in desperate need of some proper cover for Michail Antonio, whose poor injury record is well documented by now.
