Everton boss Rafael Benitez has, on Sunday evening, confirmed a pair of fresh fitness concerns in his squad.

The Toffees, of course, were back in Premier League action earlier today.

On the back of a long overdue three-point haul secured at the expense of Arsenal earlier in the week, Benitez and co. travelled to south London, for a meeting with Patrick Vieira’s Crystal Palace.

When all was said and done, however, the Blues were provided with a firm reminder of why many labelled their downing of Arsenal as a flash in the pan, rather than the beginning of a true resurgence.

A frankly abysmal all-round display on Sunday, ultimately, saw Everton put to the sword by three goals to one.

On-loan Chelsea talent Conor Gallagher proved the undisputed star of the show at Selhurst Park, bagging a brace, including the following stunner deep into injury time:

Their eventual defeat, however, in fact marked only the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the problems facing Everton on the back of Sunday’s clash.

This comes with manager Rafael Benitez, post-match, having confirmed an altogether untimely double blow on the personnel front.

First, the Spaniard revealed that a ‘problem with his adductor’ was behind the absence of star midfielder Allan versus Crystal Palace.

Not only that, but fellow countryman Richarlison, visibly furious with his boss’ decision to haul him off early in the 2nd-half, is also said to have picked up ‘a calf problem’:
