How Arsenal fans reacted as honors remain even against West Ham

Arsenal dominant against West Ham despite halftime scoreline

Arsenal put the drama surrounding former club captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang behind them once again tonight at the Emirates after a credible display in front of the home support at the Emirates against David Moyes’ high-flying West Ham.

Despite the 0-0 scoreline after the first 45-minutes of action in north London, Arsenal was very much on the front foot for the balance of proceedings and can feel hard done by the fact that the scoreline remained level.

With a place in the top four up for grabs as both sides came into tonight’s clash separated by just two points and two places in the table, Arsenal looked far more likely to take the lead after a string of chances across the first half showed the Gunners were eager to find another three-point haul in the wake of their 3-0 win against Southampton at the weekend.

A strong save from former Arsenal keeper Lukasz Fabiański kept a Kieran Tierney long-range effort from finding the top corner and the Polish international also denied veteran forward Alexandre Lacazette a late goal close to half-time before Brazilian starlet Gabriel Martinelli shanked his effort off the rebound just wide of the post.

West Ham barely had a sniff across the first 45-minutes apart from a bending effort from Pablo Fornals that sizzled just wide of Aaron Ramsdale’s far post as Moyes’ men were pinned back and made to settle to hit the Gunners on the break if possible.

Social media response

Despite the scoreline, many Arsenal fans remained confident if not frustrated by the scoreline in what is another chance for the Gunners to climb into the top four.
