Leicester City have a large number of players out for their meeting with Tottenham.

Leicester vs Tottenham

Leicester are set to take on Tottenham in a Premier League clash on Thursday.

After picking up a much-needed win vs Newcastle last time out, Leicester have moved up to 8th in the Premier League table.

However, they are still three points behind their upcoming opponents Spurs, who also have two games in hand on them.

As a result, a win is very much needed by Brendan Rodgers and co. this week.

However, ahead of the game, Leicester have been dealt some very concerning news on the personnel front.

Rodgers confirmed on Wednesday afternoon that they have a total of nine players unavailable either due to covid or other issues:

“We’ve still got a number of players out. In total, we’ve got nine players unavailable through COVID and other medical issues. In terms of the COVID side of things, we’re still where we were.”

“There will be opportunities for our younger players to get involved, getting experiences being in and around the Premier League. Kasey McAteer got some game time, and it will really help his development.”

Rodgers also stated that Leicester wanted the Premier League to look at possibly postponing Thursday’s game, but they refused.

And, as reported elsewhere, all of Leicester’s three senior centre-backs are out through injury:
