The Liverpool faithful have taken to social media in their numbers this evening, to take aim at a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad.

Salah adds to Jota’s equaliser

The Reds, of course, are currently locked in action at Anfield.

Amid efforts to keep pace with table-topping Manchester City atop the Premier League, Klopp and co. welcomed relegation-battling Newcastle United to Merseyside, eyeing an 8th successive victory across all competitions.

And, as things stand early in the 2nd-half of action, this is precisely what Liverpool are headed towards.

The hosts actually fell behind on the night, when Jonjo Shelvey took advantage of a lax piece of play on the part of Thiago Alcantara, to bend a sumptuous effort beyond Alisson and home:

Order, however, was soon restored.

First, Diogo Jota levelled things up, slotting home at the 2nd time of asking after Martin Dubravka did superbly to keep out the Portuguese’s initial effort.

And the turnaround was complete minutes later, as the in-form Mohamed Salah made it 22 for the season despite, once more, the best efforts of Newcastle no.1 Dubravka:

‘Drag him off!’

As alluded to above, though, whilst Liverpool, as things stand, look well on their way to a 12th Premier League victory of the campaign, many of a Reds persuasion have nevertheless made their frustrations with one player clear on Thursday.

The man in question? Thiago Alcantara.

Spanish international Thiago endured a difficult first-half versus Newcastle, with the aforementioned mistake to tee up Shelvey’s opener having so nearly been compounded by another, only for Alisson to save the former Barcelona man’s blushes at the last.

In turn, the Liverpool faithful have not been at all shy in taking firm aim at their side’s midfield conductor, with just some of the social media highlights showcased below:
