Thomas Tuchel confirms Chelsea’s latest double injury blow after Wolves

Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel has, on Sunday evening, confirmed that yet another pair of the club’s stars have picked up fitness problems.

Wolves stalemate

Tuchel of course led his side back into action earlier today.

Amid an alarming dip in form of late, the Blues made the trip to Molineux, desperate for a return to winning ways to avoid slipping further adrift of table-topping Manchester City.

When all was said and done, however, this is precisely what came to fruition.

Whilst City were getting the job done en route to a 4-0 drubbing of Newcastle, Chelsea again fell short, eventually emerging from their meeting with Wolves with just a share of the spoils.

Ziyech & Chalobah concerns

Chelsea, in turn, have slipped a full six points off the pace at the Premier League’s summit.

As outlined above, though, their latest pair of dropped points actually proved just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the woes faced by the European champions on Sunday.

This comes on the back of yet another pair of potential additions to the club’s absentee list.

Heading into today’s action, Thomas Tuchel was already without the services of the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Timo Werner, Ben Chilwell and Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Mateo Kovacic, meanwhile, was only fit enough for a spot on the bench.

In turn, during his post-match interview this evening, the Chelsea boss was inevitably drawn on whether the early departures of both Trevoh Chalobah and Hakim Ziyech from proceedings versus Wolves came owing to injury problems.

And Tuchel went on to confirm as much, ahead of medical tests over the days ahead:
