Lakers’ Anthony Davis is Out Four Weeks With MCL Sprain In His Left Knee | SLAM

The Los Angeles Lakers got some bad news over the weekend after Anthony Davis was officially diagnosed with an MCL sprain in his left knee after Jaden McDaniels inadvertently fell into him during the Lakers’ 110-92 loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night. On Saturday, an MRI exam in Chicago revealed the injury would have him sidelined for four weeks before being reevaluated. ESPN’s Dave McMenamin released the injury report on Saturday.

AD tried to leave the court under his power to get back to the Lakers locker room but was seen falling to the ground on his way through the tunnel before getting there.

Until this point, Davis had played in 27 of the Lakers’ first 30 games, becoming one of the team’s more durable players. He only played in 36 games last season due to injury after playing 62 games in the championship season with the Lakers.

Davis has averaged 23.3 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game this season.

This injury is just one of the many injury and illness issues this season for the Lakers. Numerous Lakers players are currently in the league’s health and safety protocols.

The Los Angeles Lakers currently have a record of 16-14 going into their matchup against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday. Before the game, Davis spoke to reporters about how he was feeling after the diagnosis.

The Lakers play against the Phoenix Suns at home on Tuesday.
