Van Dijk looks to dominate a different field

Liverpool star man and Dutch international Virgil van Dijk has taken up another profession that he hopes to dominate after a video was released on social media, showcasing a role in the new season of Netflix show “Undercover.

The worldwide streaming company, often known for highly successful shows that they themselves produce, has called upon the Liverpool man to feature in a teaser for the Dutch-language show that has now entered its second season.

The series is loosely based on real-life events pertaining to the investigation and eventual arrest of Dutch drug kingpin Janus van Wessenbeeck, who operated out of the Dutch province of Limburg.

According to Give Me Sport, van Dijk – who plays himself in the Netflix trailer – may not actually appear in the show itself, but rather, the released trailer could be for promotional purposes only.

Liverpool keeping pace with Manchester City

While Virgil van Dijk is showing his metal in the acting arena, the star Liverpool center-back remains (near) ever-present and influential for Jürgen Klopp’s Reds as they look to run-down table-topping Manchester City.

Liverpool sits just three points adrift of Pep Guardiola’s men after a disappointing 2-2 draw against Tottenham on Sunday which was not without controversy.

Scottish left-back Andrew Robertson was given a straight red and his marching orders in the 77th minute, but Spurs star and England captain Harry Kane was not given the same treatment for a reckless challenge on Robertson before the player was sent off.

Despite the draw, Liverpool remains the top goalscoring club in the Premier League with 50-goals in eighteen matches, and at the moment, seem to be the only side capable of usurping Man City from the top as Chelsea begin to flounder in their attempts to remain relevant in the title race.
