Manchester United’s stars were photographed convening on Sunday evening, ahead of the club’s upcoming meeting with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Wolves test

Ralf Rangnick’s men will of course be back in action in a little under 24 hours’ time.

On the back of a return to winning ways in a 3-1 triumph over Burnley in midweek, the Red Devils are set to welcome the aforementioned Wolves to Old Trafford, for a Premier League clash.

The matchup marks a crucial one for United, amid the club’s efforts to secure a top-4 berth.

As things stand, Rangnick and co. sit in 7th spot, four points adrift of 4th-placed Arsenal, but boasting a pair of games in hand over Mikel Arteta’s men.

Maguire misses out?

As such, it goes without saying that Ralf Rangnick will no doubt be desperate to have as many of his key performers as possible fit and available to feature from the off on Monday night.

If the latest word stemming from the media late on Sunday is anything to go by, however, then the interim United boss may not be so lucky.

Manchester United’s squad convened at The Lowry Hotel a short time ago, as is customary the night prior to a home Premier League fixture.

The cameras, in turn, were out, with the photographers at the Manchester Evening News having spotted no fewer than 21 players making their way into the hotel.

Amongst them were the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, the returning Bruno Fernandes and, once more, youngster Anthony Elanga.

On the flip side, however, no fewer than three members of the Red Devils’ central defensive ranks were nowhere to be seen.

Victor Lindelof, who missed out versus Burnley owing to a positive Covid-19 test, was not spotted, nor were either Eric Bailly, who limped off prematurely on Thursday, or captain Harry Maguire.

It is of course possible that one or more of this trio could link up with Rangnick’s troops on Monday, but, as things stand, Manchester United’s squad to face Wolves looks set to be as follows:

De Gea, Henderson, Heaton, Dalot, Wan-Bissaka, Varane, Jones, Shaw, Telles, Matić, Fred, McTominay, Lingard, van de Beek, Bruno Fernandes, Sancho, Elanga, Cavani, Rashford, Greenwood, Cristiano Ronaldo
