‘Already better than Alonso’: Chelsea’s latest Cobham talent showered in praise during Chesterfield clash‘Already better than Alonso’: Chelsea’s latest Cobham talent showered in praise during Chesterfield clash

Up-and-coming Chelsea talent Lewis Hall has seen his name take centre stage online this evening, amid the club’s meeting with Chesterfield.

Blues cruising

Thomas Tuchel’s men are of course locked in action at present.

After returning to winning ways by means of a deserved 2-0 downing of capital rivals Tottenham in midweek, the Blues turned their attentions towards matters in the FA Cup, in a meeting with the aforementioned Chesterfield.

And, as things stand, altogether unsurprisingly, Chelsea look well on their way to a 2nd successive victory across all competitions.

The European champions, early in the 2nd-half of action, lead by a hefty four goals to nil, owing to a ruthless display across the opening 45 minutes.

All of Timo Werner, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Romelu Lukaku and Andreas Christensen managed to find the target, with Chelsea, in turn, with one foot planted firmly in the 4th round of the FA Cup.

‘Better than Alonso’

It should therefore come as little surprise to hear of the Chelsea faithful being in altogether jubilant mood across social media on Saturday evening.

Fans of the Pensioners have flooded to Twitter to heap praise on a whole host of their side’s stars, albeit with one, in the form of Lewis Hall, having firmly stolen the headlines.

Hall, just 17 years of age, was afforded his senior debut by Thomas Tuchel versus Chesterfield, and has certainly repaid the faith of his manager thus far.

A stellar display, in an unfamiliar position at left-wing-back, has even seen some of a Chelsea persuasion go as far as to (lightheartedly) suggest that the Cobham academy product is already a superior player to first-team regular Marcos Alonso:
