Spanish giants FC Barcelona have been dealt yet another blow on the personnel front this evening, during the club’s meeting with Granada.
De Jong on target
Xavi Hernandez’s troops are of course currently locked in action.
After making it two wins from two since the turn of the year courtesy of a 2-1 downing of Linares Deportivo in the Copa del Rey in midweek, the Blaugrana shifted attentions back towards their pursuit of a top-4 berth in La Liga, in a meeting with the aforementioned Granada.
And, as things stand at Los Carmenes, Barca look primed to extend their winning streak to three straight outings across all competitions.
Amid a testing evening thus far, the Catalans finally took the lead just shy of the hour mark, when Dani Alves’ pinpoint delivery from the right was met by the head of Luuk de Jong, for the Dutchman’s 2nd goal in the space of a week:

As alluded to above, though, amid an otherwise positive day’s work to this point, Barcelona have also been forced to come to terms with yet another fresh blow on the injury front.
The subject of personnel woes has of course taken its place front and centre in the headlines at the Camp Nou of late, as a whole host of key members of Xavi’s squad have been forced to face up to spells on the sidelines.
And, on Saturday, such concerns have only continued to mount, after Eric Garcia, in the midst of a fine display, limped out of proceedings with what appeared to be a hamstring issue.
